Drawing and Painting
- This course is for beginners and for those who wish to brush up their
basic skills, a mixed ability group. You will cover colour,
composition, perspective and basic techniques of drawing and painting.
Andy (Russell) works primarily in acrylics but will also cover oil
paints and has a basic knowledge of watercolour. During the week’s
course you will learn through practice and experience, and gain
confidence in your ability to produce works of satisfaction. To view
examples of Andy’s work click here.
Life Drawing and Painting -
A course for both beginners and the more experienced. We will work in
pencil, charcoal, pastel and paint in order to develop this essential
part of an artists training which includes the use of life models. We
allow you time for the absorbing, intensive practice that this work
inevitably demands and which makes it so enjoyable.
Painted Effects -
This course offers an overview of painted effects such as marbling,
graining and other decorative techniques as well as the basics of
trompe l’oeil and mural painting. Painted effects incorporate timeless
artistic skills, which are used in interior design, decorated
furniture, restoration and also in paintings. Necessarily work will be
mostly practiced on boards, which can be more easily transported or
local residents can bring along an item for decoration/renovation if
they prefer.
Non-Residential Art Courses - Ideally
suited to people who live locally. We follow the same course content as
the residential painting holidays. We offer day classes, weekend
breaks, short courses or one to one tuition. Times and dates are
flexible to suit individuals and groups. Courses are available for
children or adults in small groups, a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8. Click here to see comments from previous students.
Tailor Made Painting Courses - We
are happy to design an art course tailor made to suit your requirements
at a time that suits you. This is a group course, a minimum of 4 and a
maximum of eight. The tutor can be available to travel and teach at a
venue of your own choice.
Groups of Artists - Exclusive use of the Painting in Spain house and studio is available to groups of artists or to tutor led groups. Click here for more details.
The
course tuition offered during your holiday will be tailored to suit
your ability level and your own wishes. We will discuss with all
students prior to the start of their course what each hopes to gain
from the week. If you are a beginner we offer more studio tuition, the
more experienced will have time to practice their skills and refer to
the tutor, as they require.
