Based on our successful collaboration with the Head of Art at Skinners’ School, TunbridgeWells. The tutors and their A level Art & Design students have found a significant increase in grades, motivation and the imaginative quality of their students work from attending the field course at Painting in Spain in Alcalá de los Gazules.
Why an Art Course in Spain?
Alcalá de los Gazules is a typically Spanish ‘pueblo blanco’ providing a creative, stimulating environment. The location is exceptional, set at the edge of the Natural Park with spectacular views of the Moorish town and over the Alcornocales Natural Park.
An opportunity to focus totally on art without distraction for an extended period and in a supportive atmosphere. An opportunity for students to boost the amount of coursework they have in preparation for their exam portfolio.
A large spacious studio area, hotel accommodation, leisure facilities and local amenities all within walking distance. A safe and relaxed environment for both teachers and students. An experienced artist and organiser on hand to assist with all aspects of the field trip to ensure a quality experience for teachers and their students.

The course can be as structured or as open ended as required. The subject matter will not necessarily be based on Spanish themes but rather rely on course work requirements and the new environment to provide stimulus.
Courses can be organised to focus on particular subject areas e.g. Life drawing, abstract, landscape, film making etc. Planned in conjunction with the art staff who are responsible for the student’s syllabus.
The field trip can commence from the following Airports: Seville, Jerez de la Frontera, Gibraltar or Malaga.
The first day of the field trip (or on a day of your choice) can be organised around art galleries, museums and places of interest in the following towns: Seville, Cadiz or Malaga.
The actual content of the course, the number of days and the time of year can be organised around the school term requirements. Please see below the itinerary for last October’s field trip.
